In 1967 Christine spent many exhausting weeks making a 3000 mile journey across Australia with her family in a Holden Station Wagon and a large tent to reach Port Headland in the North West.

Christine has been exhibiting professionally since 1996 in Cornwall, London and York. She works on groups of paintings like a journey with ideas flowing from one to the other and over time they become connected. Images appear and disappear within and underneath the layers as she moves the paint around.

In 1981 Christine moved to the UK, living for a while on the boarders of Scotland and in the Lake District before finally settling in Cornwall. Having had such a nomadic existence all her life she finally felt at home in the rugged Cornish landscape.

Christine Spencer Green studied at Falmouth College of Art and Design and graduated with a BA Honour’s Degree in 2001. During this time she founded Treruffe Art Studios and over 10 years this attracted many artists. The studio also acted as a platform and inspired creative industries to open spaces for artists in the hub of Cornwall.
