Talking about his work Robert Jennison has explained how he sees "landscape as dynamic rather than fixed, commonplace perhaps, rather than picturesque, to be sensed and experienced rather than be looked at nostalgically".
He continued that his paintings reflect the moods and atmosphere as well as the regional character of East Devon where he lives and works. "From initial drawings, daily and hourly contact and observation, memories and subconscious responses triggered by association, I work on a number of paintings at once," said Robert. During the 1980s he lectured on 20th Century British Art for the Beloit College USA Summer School in Britain.
Robert Jennison: Robert's work is represented in public and private collections in Europe, Canada and the USA. Jennison is a member of the Royal West of England Academy and also exhibits regularly with the Royal Ulster Academy in Belfast. He has lived in East Devon since 1984.
